About

I didn’t build Elderhood Society because I had all the answers.

I built it because I had all the questions — and nowhere to turn.

My husband is older than me. And I have watched, quietly and up close, what it looks like when someone you love begins to slow down. The energy shifts. The conversations change. The questions multiply — and the people who should have answers often don’t.

I am a California licensed Realtor with an SRES designation and a State Certified RCFE Administrator. That combination is rare. In Central California, it is nearly singular. But credentials are not why I built this. I built this because families deserve a guide who understands every part of the journey — not just the house, not just the care home, but the whole human experience of growing older.

Elderhood Society was built for the 55 to 105 community — Solo Agers navigating this chapter alone, adult children trying to do right by their parents, couples facing decisions together, and families who simply need someone who speaks both languages: real estate and care.

This is not a referral service. This is not a directory. Elderhood Society is a community — a place where the right conversations happen, the right connections are made, and no one has to figure it out alone.

What We Do

Elderhood Society serves Central California families navigating senior transitions. We guide families through care home placement, financing options, senior real estate, and the full spectrum of aging decisions — from the first conversation to the final signature.

Who This Is For

Solo Agers planning ahead on their own terms. Adult children stepping in to help a parent. Couples making decisions together. Anyone who has ever typed “what do I do when Mom can’t live alone anymore” into a search bar at midnight — this is for you.

Meet Debra Lowe

Debra Lowe is the founder of Elderhood Society and the principal of Debra Lowe Legacy, her real estate practice serving San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. She also serves Fresno County for RCFE and ARF facility sales. She holds a California DRE license (SRES designation) and is a State Certified RCFE Administrator — one of the few professionals on the Central Coast credentialed in both disciplines. Her work sits at the intersection of real estate, senior care, and human dignity.
